DISAPPOINTING DAY @ WEMO TOURNAMENT

Saturday, October 17 the varsity Lady Vikes volleyball team joined the rest of the schools in the Western Missouri Conference for the league tournament at Archie. The Lady Vikes faced Appleton City in the opening round of the tournament.

Appleton City defeated Midway 26-24 in game one. Midway defeated Appleton City 25-23 in game two. Game three was all Appleton City, as the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Vikings 25-10.

Katie Chouinard had a team high 13 assists vs. Appleton City. Tesa Renner had 7 assists. Shannon Carver had 2 assists, and Madison Turner had 1 assist.

Teresa Zielinski had 9 kills. Shannon Carver had 6 kills and 1 block. Madison Turner had 6 kills. Janae Semsch had 3 kills and 1 block. Katie Chouinard had 3 kills. Hannah Mills had 2 kills, and Cady Wright had 1 kill.

Katie Chouinard served 2 aces. Madison Turner and Cady Wright each served 1 ace.

Shannon Carver made 8 digs. Madison Turner made 7 digs. Teresa Zielinski made 6 digs. Katie Chouinard made 4 digs, and Cady Wright made 2 digs. Janae Semsch, Hannah Mills, Tesa Renner, and Jennifer Gorsage each made 1 dig.

Midway defeated Miami 25-15 and 25-13 in the consolation semifinal match.

Shannon Carver served 3 aces. Teresa Zielinski and Cady Wright each served 2 aces. Tesa Renner and Madison Turner each served 1 ace.

Tesa Renner had 4 assists. Katie Chouinard had 2 assists. Teresa Zielinski, Shannon Carver, Jennifer Gorsage, and Madison Turner each had 1 assist.

The Lady Vikes got 3 digs from Shannon Carver and 1 dig from Teresa Zielinski.

Adrian defeated Midway 28-26 and 25-20 in the consolation match.

Janae Semsch and Shannon Carver each had 4 kills. Teresa Zielinski had 3 kills and 1 block. Tesa Renner had 3 kills, and Hannah Mills had 2 kills. Jennifer Gorsage and Katie Chouinard each had 1 kill.

The JV and varsity Lady Vikes conclude the regular season with a pair of home matches this week against Hogan Prep (October 20) and Pembroke Hill (October 22).

Admission to the Pembroke Hill match is FREE. We are asking for can goods for our local food pantry in lieu of an admission fee.
