LADY VIKES EARN DISTRICT TITLE OPPORTUNITY

The Midway volleyball Lady Vikings will face Archie in the championship match of the MSHSAA Class 1 District 14 Tournament at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28. The match will be played at Archie.

Midway reached the district final by delivering knockout blows to Miami and Heartland Academy in first round and semifinal round action on Monday, October 26. These matches were played at Archie.

The Lady Vikings crushed Miami 25-2 and 25-7 in the opening round of district play.

Teresa Zielinski served 6 aces vs. Miami. Janae Semsch, Katie Chouinard, and Cady Wright each served 1 ace.

Katie Chouinard had 8 assists. Tesa Renner and Jennifer Gorsage each had 1 assist.

Shannon Carver had 10 kills and 3 blocks. Teresa Zielinski had 2 kills. Hannah Mills, Katie Chouinard, and Jennifer Gorsage each had 1 kill.

Madison Turner made 2 digs. Teresa Zielinski and Katie Chouinard each made 1 dig.

In the district semifinal match, Heartland Academy put up a battle, but the Lady Vikings defeated the Lady Mustangs 25-22 and 25-22.

Madison Turner, Shannon Carver, Tesa Renner, and Teresa Zielinski each served 1 ace in the Heartland match.

Tesa Renner had a team high 8 assists. Katie Chouinard and Hannah Mills each had 1 assist.

Shannon Carver had 8 kills. Teresa Zielinski had 5 kills, and Madison Turner had 3 kills. Tesa Renner and Hannah Mills each had 2 kills. Katie Chouinard had 1 kill.

Teresa Zielinski made 14 digs, Shannon Carver made 8 digs, and Madison Turner made 4 digs. Tesa Renner made 3 digs. Katie Chouinard and Cady Wright each made 2 digs. Jennifer Gorsage and Janae Semsch each made 1 dig.

Midway's Lady Vikes and Archie's Lady Winds haven't faced each other since September 15. Archie defeated Midway 25-22 and 25-20 in that early season WEMO Conference match up. Wednesday night's match looks to be a barn burner.
