JH TRACK & FIELD OPENS @ ARCHIE

Cass Midway Junior High School opened the 2009 track & field schedule by participating in the Archie Junior High Invitational on Wednesday, April 8. (The meet was originally scheduled for April 6, but postponed due to wintry weather.)

The JH Lady Vikings'  "A" squad won the girls' division with 106 ½ points. The JH Lady Vikings' "B" squad placed fifth with 42 ¼ points. Twenty teams participated in the girls' division.

The JH "A" Vikings placed third in the boys' division with 54 points. The JH "B" Vikings scored 4 ½ points to place fifteenth. Seventeen teams participated in the boys' division.

Kathleen Yoakum won the girls' 400 meter dash in a time of 1:06.23. Mady Berkenpas placed first in the 75 meter hurdles in a time of 13.87 seconds. Zoe Eberle won the high jump by clearing 4' 6". Cady Wright won the pole vault by clearing 7' 0".

The JH "A" Lady Vikes 4x400 meter relay team of Cady Wright, Jessica Owens, Kathleen Yoakum, and Payton Mincks ran a first place time of 4:44.56.

Derald Jayson won the boys' pole vault by clearing 7' 6".

Cady Wright ran a second place time of 1:06.64 in the girls' 400 meter dash, and Cady was second in the 75 meter hurdles in a time of 14.24 seconds. Miranda Dahman had a second place mark of 27' 9 ½" in the triple jump.

Dylan Wise ran a second place time of 1:03.65 in the boys' 400 meter dash.

Meghan Everly ran a third place time of 15.09 seconds in the 75 meter hurdles. Mady Berkenpas and Kathleen Yoakum tied for third in the pole vault as each girl cleared 4' 6".

Peyton Semsch was third in the boys' pole vault by clearing 7' 0". Bobby Zielinski cleared 5' 2" to place third in the high jump. Peyton Semsch was third in the 100 meter high hurdles in a time of 17.33.

Destinee Sanchez was fourth in the girls' shot put with a 27' 1 ½" effort.

Bailey School cleared 5' 6" to place fourth in the boys' pole vault.

Allie Hayes ran a fifth place time of 31.37 seconds in the girls' 200 meter dash. Kathleen Yoakum was fifth in the high jump by clearing 4' 2". Jessica Owens had a fifth place mark of 27' 1" in the triple jump.

The JH Lady Vikes 4x100 meter relay team of Caroline Bynum, Zoe Eberle, Allie Hayes, and Meghan Everly  ran a fifth place time of 1:02.47.

Derald Jayson had a fifth place mark of 15' 4 ½" in the boys' long jump. Dylan Wise had a fifth place time of 27.92 in the 200 meter dash.

Mykeillah Dillon cleared 4' 2" to place sixth in the girls' high jump. Shayla Madden had a sixth place mark of 26' 11" in the triple jump.

The JH "A" Lady Vikings' 4x200 meter relay team of  Payton Mincks, Caroline Bynum, Zoe Eberle, and Meghan Everly ran a sixth place time of 2:13.28.

Dylan Wise jumped 31' 1" to place sixth in the boys' triple jump. Bobby Zielinski ran a sixth place time of 12.92 seconds in the 100 meter dash. Peyton Semsch ran a time of 1:06.16 to place sixth in the 400 meter dash.

Allie Hayes ran a seventh place time of 14.90 in the girls' 100 meter dash. Miranda Dahman tied for seventh place in the high jump by clearing 4' 0". Gabby Smith had a seventh place mark of 23' 6" in the shot put.

The JH "B" Lady Vikings' 4x400 meter relay team of Destinee Sanchez, Mady Berkenpas, Miranda Dahman, and Mykeillah Dillon ran a seventh place time of 5:07.25. The JH "B" Lady Vikings' 4x200 meter relay team of JoAnna Massey, Katie Nance, Caitlin Chaffin, and Ally Geivett ran a seventh place time of 2:13.68.

Miranda Dahman ran an eighth place time of 14.94 seconds in the girls' 100 meter dash. Shelby Admire had a 23' 3" eighth place mark in the shot put. Mady Berkenpas ran an eighth place time of 1:13.93 in the 400 meter dash.

The JH Vikes' 4x400 meter relay team of Dylan Wise, Peyton Semsch, Shane White, and Derald Jayson ran to an eighth place finish. (No time was recorded at the finish line.)
