JH TRACK & FIELD DOMINATES WHIRLWIND INVITE

Midway's JH Vikings and Lady Vikings track & field teams traveled to Archie on Tuesday, April 28 for the Whirlwind JH Invitational. Eleven teams competed in the meet. The purple teams swept the team titles and won many individual and relay events.
The JH Lady Vikes scored a meet winning total of 132 ½ points. Archie was second with 108 points, and Adrian was third with 68 points. Midway's "B" girls scored 47 points for sixth place.
Cass Midway won the boys' team title with 134 points. Drexel was second with 103 ½ points. Adrian was third with 96 ½ points.
Cady Wright won the girls' 75 meter hurdles in a time of 13.00 seconds, and Cady won the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:04.98. Jessica Owens won the long jump with a leap of 12' 7 ½", and Jessica placed first in the 1600 meter run in a time of 6:10.34.
Miranda Dahman was the girls' triple jump champion with a mark of 28' 5 ½". Zoe Eberle won the high jump by clearing 4' 0", and Gabby Smith was first in the discus with a mark of 64' 2".
Kathleen Yoakum won the girls' 100 meter dash in a time of 14.33 seconds, and Kathleen claimed first place in the 200 meter dash in a time of 29.17 seconds.
The JH Lady Vikes' 4x100 meter relay team of Allie Hayes, Mady Berkenpas, Miranda Dahman, and Jessica Owens ran a first place time of 59.00 seconds. The JH Lady Vikes' 4x400 meter relay team of Jessica Owens, Mady Berkenpas, Kathleen Yoakum, and Cady Wright ran a first place time of 4:37.32.
Bobby Zielinski won the boys' 200 meter dash in a time of 26.31 seconds. Bobby also won the high jump by clearing 5' 4", and he leaped 17' 2" to win the long jump. Peyton Semsch won the 100 meter high hurdles in a time of 17.65 seconds.
Miranda Dahman was second in the girls' high jump by clearing 3' 10", and Miranda was second in 800 meter run in a time of 2:54.16. Mady Berkenpas had a second place time of 13.68 seconds in the 75 meter hurdles.
Dylan Wise was second in the boys' 400 meter dash in a time of 1:02.31. Booby Zielinski was second in the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:14.26. Derald Jayson cleared 8' 0" to place second in the pole vault.
Allie Hayes had a third place mark of 12' 4" in the girls' long jump. Kathleen Yoakum was third in the shot put with a toss of 29' ½". Zoe Eberle had a third place mark of 57' 9" in the discus, and Cady Wright cleared 6' 0" to place third in the pole vault.
Peyton Semsch was third in the boys' 400 meter dash in a time of 1:02.66. Peyton was also third in the pole vault clearing 7' 6". Tyler Greer was third in the shot put event with a mark of 32' 11 ½".
The JH Vikes' 4x400 meter relay team of Dylan Wise, Shane White, Brandon Roderick, and Peyton Semsch ran a third place time of 4:26.32.
Shayla Madden had a fourth place mark of 27' 0" in the girls' triple jump. The JH Lady Vikes' 4x200 meter relay team of Megan Everly, Zoe Eberle, Payton Mincks, and Destinee Sanchez ran a fourth place time of 2:10.37.
Derald Jayson ran a fourth place time of 13.83 seconds in the 100 meter dash. Derald also ran a fourth place time of 2:39.76 in the 800 meter run, and he had a fourth place mark of 14' 9" in the long jump. Dylan Wise was fourth in the 200 meter dash in a time of 27.53 seconds, and Dylan placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 29' 8".
The JH Vikes' 4x100 meter relay team of Shane White, Mitchell Southard, Tyler Greer and Brandon Roderick ran a fourth place time of 57.50 seconds.
Destinee Sanchez was fifth in the girls' shot put with a mark of 26' 11 ½".
Christopher Bynum ran a fifth place time of 20.75 seconds in the boys' 100 meter high hurdles. Mason Irvin was fifth in the discus with a toss of 84' 8".
The JH Vikes' 4x200 meter relay team of Shane White, Mitchell Southard, Christopher Bynum, and Brandon Roderick ran a fifth place time of 1:56.68. Midway's 4x800 meter relay team of Mitchell Robinson, Cameron Willey, Lee Smith, and Mitchell Southard ran a fifth place time of 12:47.32.
Mady Berkenpas was sixth in the girls' pole vault by clearing 5' 0". Allie Hayes ran a sixth place time of 15.34 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
Joey Beller had an eighth place mark of 29' 1" in the boys' shot put. The final meet of the season for the JH Vikes and JH Lady Vikings will be the WEMO Conference Championships at Midway on Tuesday, May 5. |
