Saturday, May 3, and the MSHSAA Class 2 District 7 Meet was held at Midway. The top four from each event move on to the MSHSAA Class 2 Section 3/4 Meet on Saturday, May 10. (The Sectional Meet is also at Cass Midway.)

Lafayette County (Higginsville) won the girls’ team title with 138 points. St. Mary’s was second with 119 points, and Knob Noster was third with 72 ½ points. Cass Midway had a fourth place team total of 60 points.

Lone Jack took the boys’ team title with 98 points. Lafayette County (Higginsville) was second with 97 points, and Knob Noster was third with 88 points. Cass Midway was sixth with 49 points.

While the Vikings had no district champions, Shelby Garrigus was a double district champion for the Lady Vikings.

Shelby Garrigus won the girls’ long jump with a mark of 15’ 11”, and she placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 33’ ½”.

Shannon Carver was second in the girls’ pole vault by clearing 9’ 0”. Justin Beshore was second in the boys’ 300 meter intermediate hurdles in a time of 42.97 seconds.

Kelsey Weis ran a third place time of 2:34.44 in the girls’ 800 meter run. Megan Carver cleared 8’ 0” to place third in the pole vault.

Sam Riggs placed third in the boys’ pole vault by clearing 11’ 0”. Justin Beshore was third in the boys’ 110 meter high hurdles in a time of 16.09 seconds.

Brianna Wright ran a fourth place time of 16.82 seconds in the girls’ 100 meter high hurdles, and she ran a fourth place time of 51.73 seconds in the 300 meter low hurdles.

The Lady Vikings’ 4x200 meter relay team of Shelby Garrigus, Megan Carver, Bree Renner, and Brianna Wright ran a fourth place time of 1:56.78.

Lane Hall had a fourth place mark of 39’ 5” in the boys’ shot put. Clint Hayes ran a fourth place time of 44.65 seconds in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles. The Vikings’ 4x200 meter relay team of Justin Beshore, Clint Hayes, Sam Riggs, and Brett Fregeau ran a fourth place time of 1:38.22.

Kelsey Weis clocked a fifth place time of 5:57.66 in the girls’ 1600 meter run.

The Vikings’ 4x400 meter relay team of Brett Fregeau, Sam Riggs, Clint Hayes, and Justin Beshore ran a fifth place time of 3:44.16.

The Vikings’ 4x100 meter relay team of Brett Fregeau, Sam Riggs, Jacob Carver, and Clint Hayes ran a sixth place time of 48.04 seconds. The 4x800 meter relay team of Josh Hague, Jacob Damron, Collin Kalberloh, and Adrian Carder clocked a sixth place time of 10:26.61.

Jacob Carver cleared 10’ 0” to place seventh in the boys’ pole vault. Stephen Buckman had a seventh place mark of 38’ 9” in the shot put.

Shannon Carver had an eighth place mark of 28’ 11” in the girls’ shot put event.
